発明の概要(英語) A blood vessel imaging system comprises a carriage for moving an ultrasonic probe where a plurality of ultrasonic oscillators are arranged along the column direction and the row direction in the row direction. A computer repeats intermittent movement control of the carriage with a distance shorter than the row pitch of the ultrasonic oscillators along the row direction every predetermined plural periods. Original image information obtained by the ultrasonic oscillators is rendered two-dimensional by an ultrasonic diagnostic device, and three-dimensional image processing or four-dimensional image processing is performed based on the two-dimensional image and the positional information. The computer creates the images of maximum diameter, minimum diameter, and the difference of maximum and minimum diameters at every measurement part in carotid artery based on the results of image processing.
