発明の概要(英語) Provided are a magnetization-reversing apparatus, a memory element, and a magnetic field-generating apparatus. The magnetization-reversing apparatus comprises a magnetic body (12) which is embedded stereoscopically partly or entirely in a wiring of a nonmagnetic body (11), and a spin-injection source (13) which generates a pure spin current of polarized spin without an accompanying electric charge flow and is placed in contact with the wiring of the nonmagnetic body (11) as a common electrode. The spin-injection source (13) allows the pure spin current to flow by a diffusion current through the wiring of the nonmagnetic body (11) to the magnetic body (12) to reverse the magnetization in the magnetic body (12). By injecting a pure spin current by utilizing such a planar structure, the magnetization can readily be reversed even in a thick-coated magnetic body (12) regardless of the penetration depth of the spin.
