発明の概要(英語) Disclosed is to provide Nd-Fe-B base magnet including modified grain boundaries and method for manufacturing the same. In the conventional method, hpwever, Dy metal or the like can be selectively existed in the crystal grain boundary to accomplish the elevation of coercive force, but there is a difficulty in the mass productivity of large amount magnet treatment due to physical film forming method, e.g. sputtering, in adopting of vacuum vessel. Furthermore, there still is a problem in the magnet cost of the necessity to use Dy metal of high cost and high purity as film forming raw material. A method for modifying grain boundaries of a Nd-Fe-B base magnet, which is characterized in by reducing treatment of the floride, oxide of chloride of the M metal element diffuse and permeate from the surface of Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet having Nd riched crystal grain boundary phase surrounding the periphery of Nd2Fe14B main crystal into said grain boundary phase.
