発明の概要(英語) The purpose of the invention is to provide a method for obtaining a boron-containing group, particularly a substituent derived from a borate ester or the like at the 2-position in high yield in a relatively short time using azulene or an azulene derivative as a starting material. In particular, the invention addresses the problem of obtaining an azulenylating agent suitable for introducing a guaiazulene group, which is useful for pharmaceuticals and the like. The invention is characterized in that when azulene or an azulene derivative is reacted with a boronating agent in the presence of a catalyst comprising an organic complex with a platinum group metal, phenanthroline or a derivative thereof is allowed to coexist.
