1. Glutathione is used to increase harvest index of use of the plant.

6. A method for achieving than wild-type or without glutathione treated plant harvest index higher plants, characterized in, includes a step of growing plants using glutathione, measurement of a cultivated plant harvest index step of the step, a step of selecting a plant having increased harvest index.
