発明の概要(英語) Provided are an intention interpreting device and an interpretation method with which decision making can be interpreted rapidly and accurately by analyzing brain waves, without the need to measure brain waves in advance for a calibration step or the like. Also provided are an intention transmission supporting device, an intention transmission supporting system and a program which employ the results of interpretations of decision making in the brain. An intention interpreting device which interprets an intention by analyzing brain waves subjects brain wave data comprising event-related potentials corresponding to a plurality of stimulus events to processing in which one arbitrarily defined stimulus event from among the plurality of stimulus events is classified separately from the other stimulus events, and a variance is investigated. The intention interpreting device subjects all the stimulus events to said processing to determine the classification that maximizes the variance, and determines that the one stimulus event that is classified separately in said classification represents the intention. Further, the intention transmission supporting device is provided with a presenting unit which presents the interpretation result obtained by the intention interpreting device.
