PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound bound through carbon-carbon bond, useful e.g. for synthesis of medicines and agrochemicals and organic electronic materials by reacting an organobismuth compound and an organic compound in the presence of a transition metal catalyst.
SOLUTION: This compound is obtained by reacting (A) an organobismuth compound having at least one carbon-bismuth bond with (B) an organic compound having at least one eliminable group in the presence of ≤20 mol.%, based on the component A, of a transition metal catalyst, pref. at room temperature to 150°C to yield the objective compound having a new carbon-carbon bond binding the organic group of the component A to the organic residue of the component B. It is preferable that the component A is a compound expressed by the formula BiR1R2R3 (R1 is an alkyl, an alkenyl or the like; R2 and R3 are each an alkyl, an alkoxy or the like and that the component B is a compound expressed by the formula R4-Y (R4 is an aryl, a heterocycle or the like; Y is an eliminable group).
