SOLUTION: This sound arrester 1 is an active sound arrester for generating a sound S2 for reducing the noise S1 by vibrating a vibrating surface of a piezoelectric film 2. The sound arrester 1 reduces the noise S1 by generating the sound S2 for negating this noise S1 in the piezoelectric film 2 by detecting the noise S1 by a noise detecting part 5. The piezoelectric film 2 is a film for generating the sound S2 for reducing the noise S1 by vibrating the vibrating surface, and the noise detecting part 5 is an acoustic electric converter such as a microphone for detecting the noise S1. An electric power generating part 6 generates electric power for vibrating the piezoelectric film 2 on the basis of a detecting result of the noise detecting part 5, and vibrates the vibrating surface of the piezoelectric film 2 by making an electric current flow to conductive parts 4a and 4b on the basis of a command from a control part 7.
