PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring distribution of the grain sizes of powder particles capable of obtaining high accuracy in measurement in a measurement for the distribution of the grain sizes of the powder particles through the use of a sedimentation balance method.
SOLUTION: The device for measuring the distribution of the grain seizes of power particles is provided with a mixing chamber of obtaining a suspension by mixing powder of which the grain diameters are to be measured with a liquid medium, a supply tube for supplying the suspension for a sedimentation chamber from the mixing chamber, a detection container, a mass measuring device and a data processor. The detection container is suspended in the sedimentation chamber by a supporting member with one end connected to the detecting container and the other end connected to the mass measuring device. By measuring changes in the mass of the detection container with the sedimentation onto the detection container of the powder dispersed in the suspension supplied in the sedimentation chamber, the distribution of the grain sizes of the powder is measured. In the device for measuring the distribution of grain sizes, an acoustic oscillating means is mounted on the mixing chamber.
