報告名称 極限環境状態における現象 反強磁性量子スピン梯子化合物の合成と新奇な物性
報告概要 固体の化学合成チームと固体物理物性チームの混成研究チームによる新物質と新物性の探索研究である。高圧合成装置と薄膜作製装置を使用した物質探索ならびに光電子分光や核磁気共鳴などの測定手段を用いた物性探索を行っている。高圧合成装置を用い,銅酸化物を5万atm,1000℃付近で処理すると,図のような格子構造が得られた。高温超伝導体に含まれるCu2Oの正方格子に対し,SrCu2O3では2本足の梯子構造,Sr2Cu3O5では3本足の梯子構造が見られる。超伝導を含めその特異な量子電子状態を調べ,新物質の創製の手掛りを得ようとしている。この他に,VやNiなどの酸化物の合成と物性探索を行っている。さらに,レーザアブレージョン法による薄膜作製装置が順調に稼働を始めたので,組成や構造に次いで物性を支配する大きな要因である形態を制御して,新物質の創製を目指している。圧電体基板上への薄膜の作製や微細加工による新物性の発現などに期待を寄せている。
