Abstract

The present invention provides a method for easily producing monodispersed copper nanoparticles having an average particle diameter of 10 nm or less even in cases where a dispersant is not used, said copper nanoparticles being useful as an ink material, a light emitting material, a catalyst material and the like. A method for producing copper nanoparticles, which comprises a step wherein a solution that is obtained by dissolving a copper compound and a base in a polyol solvent is heated at a solution temperature of 120 DEG C or more. This method for producing copper nanoparticles is characterized in that if the method comprises, during the preparation of the solution at a temperature of 120 DEG C or more, a heating step to 120 DEG C in a state wherein the copper compound, the base and polyol are coexistent, the heating time is limited to 5 minutes or less.
