Outline of related art and contending technology BACKGROUND ART
Among bone tumors, osteosarcoma is one refractory rare disease that is difficult to cure due to metastasis, development of drug resistance, and the like. Various studies have been conducted on promising target molecules for the treatment of various cancers. For example, ion channels that regulate Ca2+ signals KCa3.1 (also known as medium conductance calcium-activated potassium, IK channel, and gene name KCNN4) channel have been reported to be target molecules for the treatment of various epithelial cancers (NpL 1~ 3).
Cancer stem cells may also be associated with cancer metastasis or drug resistance. Cancer stem cells, among cancer cells, possess the properties of stem cells and are capable of self-renewal, multidivision, and formation of cancers of the same phenotype as the original cancer upon biological transplantation, such as mice. Cancer stem cells have high drug resistance and oxidative stress resistance. Therefore, targeting cancer stem cells to be treated is a challenge for achieving a fundamental cancer treatment.
