Abstract The present disclosure provides an antithrombogenic material having a substrate and a surface modified layer provided on at least a portion of the substrate, wherein: the surface modified layer includes a block copolymer having a first structural unit having, in the side chain thereof, at least one selected from the group consisting of an alkylene chain and a halogenated alkylene chain, and a second structural unit represented by general formula (1); a unit including the first structural unit has a weight average molecular weight of 9,000-15,000; and a unit including the second structural unit has a weight average molecular weight of 10,000-40,000. In general formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R2 represents a methyl group or an ethyl group, n represents an integer of 1-6, m represents an integer of 1-100, and x represents an integer of 1 or more.
Outline of related art and contending technology BACKGROUND ART
Medical materials are often composed of extracorporeal materials, and are recognized as foreign substances by biomolecules. When the biological tissue and the material are brought into contact with each other, non-specific adsorption and denaturation of the protein to the surface of the material occur, and activation of the coagulation system, platelet system, and the like may occur. Therefore, a method of forming a layer on the surface of a base material of a medical material to impart biocompatibility (, for example, antithrombotic), has been studied (, for example, Patent Document 1).
In addition, in order to apply a temperature-responsive polymer compound to medical devices, polymers having both biocompatibility and temperature-responsive properties have been studied (, for example, Patent Document 2). Patent Document 2 describes that the polymer includes a repeating unit derived from (meth) acrylate having a polyethylene oxide chain in a side chain, and that the polymer may be a copolymer. On the other hand, Patent Document 2 does not examine the influence of the weight average molecular weight or the like of each unit constituting the copolymer.
