A copolymer of (meth)acrylic ester represented by a general formula (1) including a following repeating unit A and repeating unit B.
In the general formula (1), R1 and R2 each independently represent hydrogen atom or methyl group; R3 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; Y represents an atomic group forming an aromatic ring; x represents 1 to n, n represents the number of fluorine atoms which can be contained in the aromatic ring; and a and b each independently represent an integer of 1 or more.
Scope of claims [claim1]
1. A liquid crystal display comprising an optical film, the optical film comprising a copolymer of (meth)acrylic ester represented by general formula (1) including the following repeating unit A and repeating unit B:
wherein R1 and R2 each independently represent hydrogen atom or methyl group; R3 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; Y represents an atomic group forming an aromatic ring; x represents a number from 1 to n, and n represents the number of fluorine atoms which can be contained in the aromatic ring, wherein the repeating unit A is formed by methyl (meth)acrylate (MMA) and the repeating unit B is formed by pentafluorophenyl (meth)acrylate (PFPA) and the ratio of polymerization between MMA and PFPA is set such that MMA: PFPA=80 weight percent: 20 weight percent to 88 weight percent: 12 weight percent.

2. A phase contrast film comprising a copolymer of (meth)acrylic ester represented by general formula (1) including the following repeating unit A and repeating unit B:
wherein R1 and R2 each independently represent hydrogen atom or methyl group; R3 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; Y represents an atomic group forming an aromatic ring; x represents a number from 1 to n, and n represents the number of fluorine atoms which can be contained in the aromatic ring, wherein the repeating unit A is formed by methyl (meth)acrylate (MMA) and the repeating unit B is formed by pentafluorophenyl (meth)acrylate (PFPA) and the ratio of polymerization between MMA and PFPA is set such that MMA: PFPA=80 weight percent: 20 weight percent to 88 weight percent: 12 weight percent.

3. A diffusion plate comprising a copolymer of (meth)acrylic ester represented by general formula (1) including the following repeating unit A and repeating unit B:
