Abstract A method of organism identification according to genotype that realizes enhancement of standardization precision, consequently enhancement of identification precision. Further, there is provided means for enhancing of standardization precision. The method may comprise (1) subjecting a double stranded DNA prepared using the genome of analyte organism as a template to a temperature gradient gel electrophoresis or a denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis, (2) extracting a characteristic point of the double stranded DNA from the obtained electrophoretic pattern of the double stranded DNA, and (3) carrying out identification of the analyte organism on the basis of the extracted characteristic point. Further, the method may comprise (4) performing the above gel electrophoresis of double stranded DNA together with two types of internal standard DNAs, (5) extracting a melting start point of each of the internal standard DNAs from the obtained electrophoretic patterns of the two types of internal standard DNAs,and standardizing the above characteristic point on the basis of these melting start points as a reference point, and (6) carrying out identification of the analyte organism on the basis of the standardized characteristic point.
