Title SURGERY ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
Abstract The actual position of the optical axis of a rigid endoscope is measured in advance even if the optical axis is offset, and surgery navigation is carried out using the actual position of the optical axis. A surgery assistance system having a three-dimensional shape measurement means that measures the three-dimensional surface shape of a patient and a rigid endoscope (11) to be inserted into the body of the patient includes a marker (12) for detecting position/posture. The rigid endoscope has a marker (12) that can be measured by the three-dimensional shape measurement means. In a computing means, data relating to a three-dimensional tomogram of the patient which is took in advance and the position relation relating to the actual position of the optical axis of the rigid endoscope which is measured in advance are stored. The position of the three-dimensional tomogram represented by the data is aligned with the position of the patient's three-dimensional surface shape measured by the three-dimensional shape measurement means. The position/posture of the rigid endoscope and the optical axis are calculated by using the measured position of the marker and the stored actual position of the optical axis. The aligned three-dimensional tomogram, the optical axis of the rigid endoscope, and the point where the optical axis and a tissue wall cross each other are displayed.
