Abstract To provide: a tin-based perovskite layer that is highly purified by the removal of a trace amount of Sn4+ present in a system, the tin-based perovskite layer having good photoelectric conversion efficiency due to not being susceptible to the oxidation of Sn2+ to Sn4+; a tin-based perovskite layer having excellent passivation properties; and a method for producing such a tin-based perovskite layer. [Solution] The present invention provides: a method for producing a tin-based perovskite layer, the method comprising: a step for adding a reductant to a tin dihalide-containing solution to obtain a tin-based perovskite precursor solution; and a step for preparing a perovskite layer from the tin-based perovskite precursor solution, wherein the tin dihalide includes at least one selected from among tin iodide, tin bromide, and tin chloride, the tin-based perovskite precursor solution contains tin fluoride, and the reductant is a reductant that reduces tin fluoride to tin in the tin-based perovskite precursor solution but does not reduce tin dihalide to tin in the tin-based perovskite precursor solution; and a tin-based perovskite layer obtained by said method.
