Abstract Provided are: a compound which has a higher fluorescence quantum yield and higher light stability than conventional FLAPs; and a polymeric compound including said compound. The problem of the presentinvention can be solved by providing a compound represented by general formula (1). The symbols in general formula (1) are as follows: A represents a seven- or eight-membered ring structure; Y1 and Y2each independently represent a halogen atom, etc.; a1 indicates the number of the substituents Y1, and a2 indicates the number of the substituents Y2; Y3 represents a halogen atom, etc.; b indicatesthe number of the substituents Y3; m and n each independently indicate an integer of 0-3; when m is an integer of 1-3, then Y1 may be bonded to the structural moiety defined by m, and likewise, when nis an integer of 1-3, then Y2 may be bonded to the structural moiety defined by n; and B1 and B2 each independently represent a structure represented by any of general formulae (2-1) to (2-3).
