Title PROXIMITY/CONTACT SENSOR
Abstract An objective of the present invention is to provide a proximity/contact sensor which is capable of accurate measurement of proximity and contact positions, pressure, etc., and allows for improved operability and reduction of erroneous operations for touch panels. A proximity/contact sensor comprises: a first detection unit (10), further comprising a sheet-shaped upper electrode layer (12) which has a plurality of upper electrodes (11) whereby electricity is supplied in one direction, and a sheet-shaped lower electrode layer (14) which has a plurality of lower electrodes (13) which are insulated from the upper electrodes, whereby electricity is supplied in another direction which differs from the electricity supply direction of the upper electrodes, and which are positioned intersecting with the upper electrodes; an intermediate layer (15) which is positioned below the first detection unit and which deforms according to contact or pressure of an object to be detected; a second detection unit (20) which is positioned below the intermediate layer and which detects an electrical change corresponding to the contact or the pressing force of the object; a computation unit (50) which determines proximity of an object on the basis of an electrical change between the upper electrodes and the lower electrodes and which specifies the position at which contact is made or pressure is applied as well as the pressure value thereat on the basis of the electrical change detected by the second detection unit; and a switching unit (40) which carries out a circuit switch at a prescribed interval such that either the first detection unit or the second detection circuit connects to a ground.
