Abstract Provided are an underwater communication device and an underwater communication method that can be applied to underwater mobile communication. The underwater communication device 10 is provided with a transmitter 12 which emits an electric signal, and a receiver 14 which is disposed away from the transmitter 12 with water therebetween, and receives the electric signal. The receiver 14 comprises a field-effect transistor 23 with a channel region 39 disposed in a position in contact with the water, and a drive circuit 26 which produces a potential difference between a source region 31 and a drain region 33 of the field-effect transistor 23.
Outline of related art and contending technology BACKGROUND ART
In the ocean water in the wireless communication of the mobile bodies, sound waves or electromagnetic waves and the like have been used in a variety of communication media. For example, an acoustic wave, the signal attenuation is reduced, the transmission distance is longer, the transmission capacity is small, a relatively low transmission speed. An electromagnetic wave, the attenuation factor is very high and thus it is not practical.
On the other hand, the wireless communication system using light, light absorption is smaller in the seawater, suitable communication media. As a light source, laser is used as the water has been proposed for wireless communication (for example, Patent Document 1).
Scope of claims (In Japanese)[請求項1]
電気信号を発信する送信機と、
前記送信機と水を介して配置され、前記電気信号を受信する受信機と
を備える水中通信装置であって、
前記受信機は、
前記水に接する位置にチャネル領域が設けられた電界効果トランジスタと、
前記電界効果トランジスタのソース領域とドレイン領域の間に電位差を生じさせる駆動回路と
を有する水中通信装置。

前記ソース領域と前記ドレイン領域上に保護膜を有する請求項1に記載の水中通信装置。

[請求項3]
前記送信機と前記受信機は、1m以上の間隔をあけて配置されている請求項1又は2に記載の水中通信装置。

[請求項4]
前記電気信号の周波数は、1kHz~10MHzである請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の水中通信装置。

[請求項5]
前記水が海水である請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の水中通信装置。

[請求項6]
電気信号を水中に発信する送信ステップと、
水を介して前記電気信号を受信する受信ステップと
を備える水中通信方法であって、
前記受信ステップは、前記水に接する位置にチャネル領域が設けられた電界効果トランジスタによって前記電気信号を受信する、水中通信方法。
