発明の概要(英語) A soil evaluation sensor 1 is provided with: a voltage generating unit 4 for generating an alternating current voltage; an electrode end 2 for providing the alternating current voltage to soil 100a; an electrode end 3 for receiving an alternating current arising from the alternating current voltage; a current measuring unit 6 for measuring the magnitude of the alternating current; and a processing unit 7 for obtaining an evaluation value indicating a characteristic of the soil 100a, using the alternating current obtained by the current measuring unit 6. The processing unit 7 includes: a first calculating unit 11 which uses the alternating current voltage and the alternating current to obtain first information indicating a relationship between the frequency of the alternating current voltage and an absolute value (|Z|) of an impedance of the soil 100a; a second calculating unit 12 which uses the first information to calculate second information indicating a relationship between the frequency of the alternating current voltage and a phase (θ) of the impedance of the soil 100a; and a third calculating unit 13 which uses the first information and the second information to obtain an evaluation value of the soil.
