発明の概要(英語) A bilirubin concentration measurement system (1) according to the present invention is provided with a sensor device (10) attachable to a test body, and a terminal device (20) capable of wirelessly communicating with the sensor device (10). The sensor device (10) is provided with: a light emitting element (12) which emits blue light; a light emitting element (13) which emits green light; an optical detection element (14) which detects reflected light due to the blue light incident on, and reflected by, a skin of the test body, and reflected light due to the green light incident on, and reflected by, the skin of the test body; and a communication unit (16) which wirelessly transmits information pertaining to the intensity of the reflected light detected by the optical detection element (14). The terminal device (20) is provided with a communication unit (21) which receives the information pertaining to the intensity of the reflected light transmitted from the sensor device (10), and a computing unit (22) which calculates a bilirubin concentration using the information pertaining to the intensity of the reflected light.
従来技術、競合技術の概要(英語) BACKGROUND ART
Since neonatal, infants and infants are immature in their body development, vital check is essential. In particular, since the liver of newborns and infants is immature, it is necessary to periodically monitor the liver function. One of the important parameters for liver function is bilirubin produced during hemoglobin degradation. The liver of neonatal and infants is immature, so that bilirubin produced cannot be rapidly decomposed. As a result, undegraded bilirubin is accumulated in the skin tissue to cause jaundice. When jaundice occurs, bilirubin may deposit in the brain and cause brain injury unless appropriate treatment is performed. The level of allowed bilirubin depends on the age of (months and) of the newborn or infant. Therefore, in order to find the symptoms of jaundice as early as possible, it is important to continuously measure the bilirubin concentration (bilirubin value) of newborn or infant.
Bilirubin concentration is measured using a method of sampling blood and directly measuring (blood sampling method) or an optical method. The blood sampling method has an advantage that bilirubin values can be measured with high accuracy, but it takes time and effort to measure the bilirubin values because of being invasive. On the other hand, since the optical method is non-invasive, measurement is easier than invasive blood sampling method. For this reason, optical methods are widely used for the measurement of bilirubin concentration.
