発明の概要(英語) The present invention addresses the problem of providing a biomarker which has high utility, is minimally invasive and exhibits specificity to esophageal cancer. The identified esophageal biomarkers are hsa-miR-619-5p in urine, hsa-miR-1273f in urine, hsa-miR-3135b in urine, hsa-miR-4327 in urine and hsa-miR-150-3p in urine. Setting these miRNA expression levels as indicators makes it possible to determine the presence of esophageal cancer.
従来技術、競合技術の概要(英語) BACKGROUND ART
The gold standard for esophageal cancer diagnosis is a pathological diagnosis using upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and biopsy tissue, but is found to be extremely advanced by endoscopy at the time of developing symptoms because there are no symptoms if they progress and cause no passage impairment, and thus there is a high risk of metastasis. As such, esophageal cancer is one of poor prognosis diseases. Typically, only 1 ~ 2 photographs of the esophagus are taken at the time of upper gastrointestinal imaging performed in gastric cancer examinations, and it is difficult to find if the tumor is not a progressive stage that would cause impaired passage.
Serum markers such as SCC, CYFRA21-1, and anti p53 antibodies are used in blood tests, but sensitivity and specificity are not sufficient. In addition, development of biomarkers specific to esophageal cancer has been advanced (for example, Patent Document 1 ~ 3), but there are no clinical applications. On the other hand, specific micro RNA combinations in serum have been reported to be useful for diagnosis of esophageal cancer (NpL 1).
