発明の概要(英語) According to the present invention, a field portion of a rotor of an electric motor includes a plurality of permanent magnets arranged in the circumferential direction with the magnetization directions thereof each changed by a prescribed angle, and a stator is disposed on the radially outer side of the field portion. In the stator, three-phase coils of an armature are arranged in the circumferential direction on an inner circumferential surface of an annular outer cylinder. Further, a ferromagnetic material with which the magnetic flux density is at least equal to the residual magnetic flux density in the magnetic field resulting from the field portion is used for the outer cylinder, and the thickness dimension of the outer cylinder is set such that magnetic saturation occurs as a result of the field portion. Consequently, in the electric motor, the outer diameter of the stator can be reduced while torque ripple is suppressed by means of the magnet arrangement in the field portion, and an improvement in power output density can be achieved.
従来技術、競合技術の概要(英語) BACKGROUND ART
In electric motors, generators, and the like, N field in which N pole and S pole of N permanent magnet are alternately arranged (N-S arranged field) is used. In the field, a magnetic field on one side (inner side or outer side in the radial direction) of the arranged permanent magnets is used, but in the N-S arranged field, magnetic fields are generated on both sides of the arranged permanent magnets, and the magnetic fields (magnetic energy from the permanent magnets) are not effectively utilized.
On the other hand, examples of the field of the permanent magnet arrangement include Halbach arrangement field in which a plurality of permanent magnets are arranged in that order by rotating the direction of the magnetic poles (magnetization directions) by 90 °. In this Halbach array field, it is possible to generate a magnetic field stronger on one side than on the other side in a direction intersecting the array direction of the permanent magnets, and it is possible to effectively utilize the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnets.
JP-A-2009-201343, JP-A-2010-154688, and the like propose a field magnetic field (dual Halbach array field magnetic field) that can more effectively utilize a magnetic field generated by a permanent magnet by disposing two sets of Halbach magnet arrays facing each other such that the magnetic fields of the two sets of Halbach magnets strengthen each other.
