A metal-loaded article which is obtained by loading a carrier with a transition metal (M), and which is characterized in that the carrier is a composition that contains a typical element oxide represented by general formula (1). (1): AnBmOl
(In general formula (1), A represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ba and Sr; B represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge and Sn; n represents an integer from 1 to 17; m represents an integer from 1 to 17; and l represents an integer from 1 to 26.)
