Abstract Provided is a device for suppressing sustained discharge by using a capacitance arranged in gaps of a solar battery array so that the capacitance function suppresses sustained discharge on the solar battery array. The solar battery array (3) includes a plurality of solar battery cells (1) constituting a power source mounted on an artificial satellite (4). A plurality of solar battery cells (1) are connected in series to constitute a plurality of series circuits (2). The plurality of series circuits (2) are connected in parallel to one another. In the device for suppressing sustained discharge on the solar battery array, a capacitance (7) charged by voltage oscillation generated by the sustained discharge is connected between a positive electrode side line (5)and a negative electrode side line (6) of the series circuits (2). The capacitance (7) has an electrostatic capacitance in the range at least between 33 nF and 10 .mu.F.

【請求項1】 複数の太陽電池セルが直列に接続された複数の直列回路を,人工衛星内負荷の正極性端子及び負極性端子にそれぞれ正極側ライン及び負極側ラインを介して接続されて電源装置を構成する太陽電池アレイにおいて,
 前記直列回路の前記正極側ラインと前記負極側ラインとの間,又は予め決められた所定の前記直列回路間に,持続放電で発生する電圧振動で充電される持続放電抑制用キャパシタンスが接続されていることを特徴とする太陽電池アレイ上での持続放電抑制装置。

【請求項2】 複数個の前記持続放電抑制装置を,前記正極性端子及び前記負極性端子に並列に接続したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の太陽電池アレイ上での持続放電抑制装置。

【請求項3】 前記持続放電の発生時に前記キャパシタンスを充電させて前記持続放電に供給される電流を無くし,前記持続放電の継続時間を短縮し,前記持続放電を消滅させることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の太陽電池アレイ上での持続放電抑制装置。

【請求項4】 前記キャパシタンスの静電容量は,前記太陽電池アレイにおける電気回路システムや前記太陽電池アレイの発電容量によって最適値を決定できることを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の太陽電池アレイ上での持続放電抑制装置。

【請求項5】前記キャパシタンスの静電容量は,少なくとも33nFから10μFまでの範囲であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の太陽電池アレイ上での持続放電抑制装置。
