| Abstract |
(EP2208419) The composition, in accordance with the present invention, for producing a plant body having an improved sugar content includes glutathione, a polynucleotide encoding ³-glutamylcysteine synthetase, or a polynucleotide encoding glutathione-binding plastid type fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase. The composition preferably includes oxidized glutathione. This allows provision of a composition for easily producing a plant body having an improved sugar content. |

[claim1] 1. A composition for producing a plant body having an improved sugar content, the composition comprising a substance (excluding hydrogen peroxide) for regulating an oxidation-reduction state of a cell. [claim2] 2. The composition according to claim 1, wherein the substance is glutathione, a polynucleotide encoding gamma -glutamylcysteine synthetase, or a polynucleotide encoding glutathione-binding plastid type fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase. [claim3] 3. The composition according to claim 1, wherein the substance is oxidized glutathione. [claim4] 4. A kit for producing a plant body having an improved sugar content, the kit comprising a substance (excluding hydrogen peroxide) for regulating an oxidation-reduction state of a cell. [claim5] 5. A method for producing a plant body having an improved sugar content, the method comprising the step of cultivating the plant body by using a substance (excluding hydrogen peroxide) for regulating an oxidation-reduction state of a cell.
