Title | Metal oxynitride electrode catalyst |
Abstract |
[PROBLEMS] Carbides and other most non- platinum compounds in conditions of an electrode potential as high as 0.4 V or above in an acidic electrolyte are activated and dissolved and cannot be stably present. Thus, the application range of relevant electrode catalyst is limited to low electrode potentials. There is a demand for development of an electrode catalyst that in these conditions, exhibits enhanced stability while maintaining catalytic capability. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] There is provided a metal oxynitride electrode catalyst comprising an oxynitride containing at least one transition metal element selected from the group consisting of La, Ta, Nb, Ti and Zr, characterized in that the electrode catalyst is used at a potential of 0.4 V or higher relative to reversible hydrogen electrode potential in an acidic electrolyte. This metal oxynitride electrode catalyst is useful as an electrode catalyst for electrochemical systems operated in an acidic electrolyte in the field of water electrolysis, organic electrolysis, fuel cell, etc. |
Scope of claims |
[claim1] Swarm power from [1] La, Ta, Nb, Ti and Zr also selected at least one transition metal elements, including okishinaitoraido, in acidic electrolytes for reversible hydrogen electrode potential 0.4 features to be used in V or more voltage, metal okishinaitoraido electrode catalyst. Claim 1 to be dispersed on the catalyst carrier particles [2] as the electronic conductivity of powder metal okishinaitoraido electrode catalyst. Claim 1 characterized to be used as a fuel cell electrode catalysts used [3] acidic electrolytes or 2 metal okishinaitoraido electrode catalyst. |
