PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING CARBON NANOSTRUCTURE
A feed gas and a catalyst are introduced through a feed supply line (4) and a catalyst supply line (3) together with a carrier gas into a reactor (1) equipped on its outer periphery with a heater (12) for thermally decomposing the feed gas. The reactor (1) has a convection regulator (61) fitted to the discharge opening of the catalyst supply pipe (3). The convection regulator (61) covers an edge side of the reactor (1) to regulate flows generating in the reactor (1) so as not to reach the edge side. Due to this, a convective state can be efficiently produced in a reaction region. Consequently, the fouling problem that the catalyst is cooled and aggregates in the low-temperature region in the rector (1) and these aggregates and a product of decomposition of the feed gas adhere and deposit can be eliminated. Thus, the efficiency of carbon nanostructure production can be improved.
