Title PLATINUM CORE-SHELL CATALYST MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND FUEL CELL USING CATALYST
Abstract Disclosed is a method which can produce, through a simple manufacturing process, a large volume of a platinum core-shell catalyst which is suitable for use as a catalyst for oxygen reduction reactions in a fuel cell. The method is characterised in that metal core particles are immersed, in the presence of a reducing agent, in a solution containing bivalent platinum ions or tetravalent platinum ions, and thus platinum is directly deposited onto the metal core particles. It is preferable that the metal core particles are supported on the surface of a carrier, and it is also preferable that the solution is an aqueous solution containing platinum ions at a concentration of 0.1-100mM.
