Abstract Provided is a sulfide solid electrolyte material which has excellent ion conductivity. Specifically, provided is a sulfide solid electrolyte material: containing an M1 element (for example a Li element), an M2 element (for example a Ge element or a P element), and an S element; having a peak in the position of 2.theta.=29.58 deg.+-0.50 deg. in an X-ray diffraction measurement using CuK.alpha. lines; and, when the diffraction intensity at the peak at 2.theta.=29.58 deg.+-0.50 deg. is represented by IA and the diffraction intensity at the peak at 2.theta.=27.33 deg.+-0.50 deg. is represented by IB, having an IB/IA value of less than 0.50.
