Abstract Provided are a self-renewal promoter for neural stem cells and a method for using same. An ECF-L, which is contained in culture supernatant of bone marrow-origin vascular endothelial precursor cells, has an effect of promoting the self-renewal of neural stem cells. Thus, the ECF-L can be used as an ingredient of a self-renewal promoter for neural stem cells, a medicinal composition for proliferating neural stem cells and a medicinal composition for treating diseases causing nerve dysfunction.

 神経幹細胞を培養する方法であって、
 ECF-L存在下で神経幹細胞を培養することを特徴とする、方法。

[請求項4]
 前記ECF-Lがヒトacidic chitinase、ヒトchitotriosidase、ヒトoviductal glycoprotein 1 precursor、ヒトchitinase 3-like 2 またはヒトchitinase 3-like 1であることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の方法。

[請求項5]
 神経幹細胞の自己複製を促進するための医薬組成物であって、
 ECF-LまたはECF-Lを発現する発現ベクターを含有することを特徴とする医薬組成物。

[請求項6]
  前記ECF-Lがヒトacidic chitinase、ヒトchitotriosidase、ヒトoviductal glycoprotein 1 precursor、ヒトchitinase 3-like 2 またはヒトchitinase 3-like 1であることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の医薬組成物。

[請求項7]
 神経の機能不全をもたらす疾患の治療用医薬組成物であることを特徴とする、請求項5または6に記載の医薬組成物。

[請求項8]
 前記疾患が、脳梗塞、脊髄損傷、筋委縮性側索硬化症、アルツハイマー病、パーキンソン病、進行性核上性麻痺、ハンチントン病、多系統萎縮症、脊髄小脳変性症、脳出血、または、くも膜下出血であることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医薬組成物。

[請求項9]
 前記神経の機能不全が、加齢に起因することを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医薬組成物。

[請求項10]
 請求項5~9のいずれかに記載の医薬組成物を含有することを特徴とする、医薬剤。
