Title METHOD FOR DETECTING POINT OF GAZE AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING POINT OF GAZE
Abstract Disclosed is a device (1) for detecting point of gaze, said device (1) comprising four cameras (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d), light sources (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d), control circuits (4, 5, 6) and an image processing device (7). The image processing device (7) calculates vectors (r) from the corneal reflection point of a subject (A) to the centre of the pupil of the subject (A), on a plane that is perpendicular to a reference line connecting a camera and the centre of the pupil. Based on the vectors (r), the angle (.theta.) of the line of gaze of the subject with respect to the reference lines of the cameras is calculated by using a function (f) containing M parameters. The M parameters contained in the function (f) are determined by using a plurality of relationship expressions derived from the angle (.theta.). The point of gaze (Q) of the subject (A) is detected by finding the point of intersection of the line of gaze on a display screen, based on the direction of the line of gaze calculated using the determined parameters. The number of cameras is set such that M * 1/2 or greater.
