Proposed is a communication device or similar which can use both time and frequency offsets. A communication device (3) uses formula (2) to generate a transmission signal (sGD(t)). A spread unit (13) is provided with a time spread unit (25) and a frequency spread unit (27). The time spread unit (25) multiplies a time region spread code (Xn,j). The frequency spread unit (27) multiplies a frequency region spread code (X'n,j). In formula (2), tj is the delay time for the jth user and vj is the frequency offset for the jth user. By allowing these times and frequencies it is possible to use both time and frequency offsets.
