発明の概要(英語) Provided is an SiC ceramic material containing a bundle of SiC continuous fiber within a porous SiC ceramic starting material, with heat-insulation properties and not only high strength but also high toughness. Also provided is an SiC ceramic structure configured from the SiC ceramic material and able to be produced by: manufacturing a heat sintered body, by using a bundle of SiC continuous fiber and a slurry of SiC powder and carbon powder mixed in water or other liquid; then vaporizing and releasing the carbon powder. The SiC ceramic structure can also be manufactured by heating a reaction preparation that includes the bundle of SiC continuous fiber, a carbon composition, and the Si powder, at or above the fusion-point temperature for silicon, and vaporizing and releasing the residual carbon composition from a reaction sintered body obtained by reacting the carbon composition and the Si powder. In addition, the SiC ceramic structure can be manufactured by chemical vapor deposition.
従来技術、競合技術の概要(英語) BACKGROUND ART
Made of SiC (silicon carbide), an enormous number of fine pores and a porous SiC ceramics, superior insulation, insulation property and heat resistance since they have, atomic energy system and environmental conditioning type energy system applied to the functional structure such as expected.
Conventional porous SiC ceramics, after the pouring of the material, an atmospheric sintering method, reaction sintering method, sintering method or the like polymer has been produced by sintering. However, these conventional method for manufacturing a porous SiC ceramics, SiC weak bonding force between the molecules, strength is low. That is, facilitated by an impact or the like and is prone to crack, has not been applied to the structural material.
Therefore, the porous SiC ceramics for added strength, attempts have been made are as follows. For example, the non-patent document 1, SiC powder and carbon powder mixture to an elevated temperature, and then sintered under high pressure, decarburization can be prepared by treating porous SiC ceramics disclosed. The porous SiC ceramic is in this document, a part other than pores is sintered for a high bonding strength, as compared to conventional high strength.
