The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a nanoparticle dispersion liquid, comprising a dispersion step of bringing in contact: a complex containing nanoparticles and a solid material present at periphery of the nanoparticles
and a surface modifier-containing liquid in which the viscosity is 1.10 mPas or greater at 25 DEG C, the surface modifier-containing liquid containing a surface modifier for modifying the surface of the nanoparticles, and a solvent for dissolving the solid material. The surface of the nanoparticles is thereby modified by the surface modifier and the surface-improved nanoparticles are dispersed in the solvent in the presence of ions.
