MACHINABLE ZEOLITE BULK BODY, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME AND HYDROTHERMAL SYNTHESIS REACTION SOLUTION THEREFOR, AND APPLICATION THEREFOR
This machinable zeolite bulk body, in which no binder is used, is characterized in comprising 50-100 mass% of a zeolite component (A) and 0-50 mass% of a silica component (B) made of a-SiO2 and/or amorphous SiO2, the tensile strength thereof being at least 3 MPa or the flexural strength thereof being at least 3 MPa. This zeolite bulk body can be either hydrophobic (Si/Al ratio at least 3) or hydrophilic (Si/Al ratio ranging from 1 to less than 3), and can be produced by running a hydrothermal synthesis treatment for 6 hours to 10 days at a temperature of 80-225 DEG C on a hydrothermal synthesis reaction solution containing a silica source (a), and, per mole of silica (SiO2) in the silica source: 0.1-3.0 moles of an alkali metal component (b), in terms of the amount of alkali metal atoms
0-0.7 moles of an alumina source (c), in terms of the amount of alumina (Al2O3)
0-0.15 moles of an organic template (d)
and 5-50 moles of water (e).
