Abstract

An optical interferometer includes: a light source that emits coherent first light and second light with a frequency difference corresponding to the natural frequency of a target molecule

an amplitude modulation means that modulates the amplitude of the second light

a separation means that separates the first light into reference light and first irradiation light

an optical path length adjustment means that adjusts the optical path length of the reference light

and a detection means that detects interference light between the first light (signal light) and the reference light, in which first light stimulated Raman loss or gain is caused by resonance of the frequency difference with the target molecule in accordance with the amplitude modulation upon irradiation of a measurement position of an object by the first irradiation light and second irradiation light (amplitude-modulated second light).
