Title Power generation element and power generation apparatus provided with power generation element achieved
Abstract The present invention provides a power generation element which has strong resistance to bending and impact and has high power generation capacity, and a power generation apparatus including the power generation element.
The power generation element (1) includes: a first magnetostrictive rod (11a) made of a magnetostrictive material; a rigid rod (11b) made of a magnetic material and disposed in parallel with the first magnetostrictive rod (11a), the magnetic material having rigidity and a shape that enable uniform application of compression force or tensile force to the first magnetostrictive rod (11a); a first coil (12c) wound around the first magnetostrictive rod (11a); and two connecting yokes (10a and 10b) each of which is provided at one end of each of the first magnetostrictive rod (11a) and the rigid rod (11b) to connect the first magnetostrictive rod (11a) and the rigid rod (11b), wherein the power generation element (1) generates power through expansion or contraction of the first magnetostrictive rod (11a) due to vibration in a direction perpendicular to an axis direction of the first magnetostrictive rod (11a).
Scope of claims [claim1]
1. An electrical power generation element, comprising: a first magnetostrictive rod (11a) made of a magnetostrictive material; a rigid rod (11b) made of a magnetic material and disposed in parallel with the first magnetostrictive rod, the magnetic material having rigidity and a shape that enable uniform application of compression force or tensile force to the first magnetostrictive rod; a first coil wound (12a) around the first magnetostrictive rod (11a); and two connecting yokes (10a, 10b) each of which is provided at one end of each of the first magnetostrictive rod and the rigid rod to connect the first magnetostrictive rod and the rigid rod, a first of said connecting yokes (10a) being fixed and a second of said connecting yokes (10b) being movable, characterized in that the power generation element is configured to generate electrical power through expansion or contraction of the first magnetostrictive rod due to application of a bending force to the second of said connecting yokes (10b) caused by vibration in a direction perpendicular to an axis direction of the first magnetostrictive rod.

2. The electrical power generation element according to Claim 1,
wherein the rigid rod is a second magnetostrictive rod made of a magnetostrictive material,
the power generation element further includes a second coil wound around the second magnetostrictive rod, and
the power generation element generates power through expansion of one of the first magnetostrictive rod and the second magnetostrictive rod and contraction of the other due to vibration in a direction perpendicular to an axis direction of the first magnetostrictive rod and the second magnetostrictive rod.

3. The electrical power generation element according to Claim 1,
wherein an easy magnetization direction of the first magnetostrictive rod is in parallel with the axis direction of the first magnetostrictive rod.

4. The electrical power generation element according to Claim 2,
wherein an easy magnetization direction of the first magnetostrictive rod and the second magnetostrictive rod is in parallel with an axis direction of the first magnetostrictive rod and the second magnetostrictive rod.

5. The electrical power generation element according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, further comprising
a magnet having a back yoke.

6. The electrical power generation element according to any one of Claims 1 to 5,
wherein the second of the two connecting yokes has a weight.

7. The electrical power generation element according to any one of Claims 1 to 6,
wherein the power generation element resonates in a second resonant mode.

8. The electrical power generation element according to Claim 6,
wherein the weight has a shape that is longer in the axis direction of the magnetostrictive rod than in the direction perpendicular to the axis direction of the magnetostrictive rod.

9. The electrical power generation element according to Claim 1,
wherein when the number of turns of the first coil is N, the first coil includes K coils connected in parallel and each having N/K turns.

10. The electrical power generation element according to Claim 2,
wherein when the number of turns of each of the first coil and the second coil is N, the first coil and the second coil each include K coils connected in parallel and each having N/K turns.

11. The electrical power generation element according to one of Claims 1 and 2, further comprising
a plurality of power generation elements including the power generation element that are disposed in parallel,
wherein the power generation elements are connected in series.

12. The electrical power generation element according to any one of Claims 1 to 11,
wherein the magnetostrictive material has ductility.
[claim13]
13. The electrical power generation element according to any one of Claims 1 to 12,
wherein the magnetostrictive material is an iron-cobalt alloy.

14. The electrical power generation element according to Claim 1 in which the rigid rod and the two connecting yokes are formed into a single entity.

15. An electrical power generation apparatus, comprising
the electrical power generation element according to any one of Claims 1 to 14.
