| Abstract | This laser medium is a single crystal or ceramic which is formed of M1RM2O4 (wherein M1 represents one or more alkaline earth metal elements selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr and Ba; R represents one or more rare earth elements selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Gd and Lu; and M2 represents one or two group 13 elements selected from the group consisting of Al and Ga) that is doped with Cr3+ and Nd3+. This laser medium is capable of performing laser oscillation by means of sunlight excitation. |

(In Japanese)[請求項1] Cr3＋およびNd3＋をドープしたM1RM2O4（ただし、M1：Ca、SrおよびBaからなる群から選択される1種または2種以上のアルカリ土類金属元素、R：Y、La、GdおよびLuからなる群から選択される1種または2種以上の希土類元素、M2：AlおよびGaからなる群から選択される1種または2種の13族元素）からなる単結晶またはセラミックスからなるレーザー媒質。 [請求項2] 前記単結晶またはセラミックスは、Cr3＋およびNd3＋をドープしたCaYAlO4である、請求項1に記載のレーザー媒質。 [請求項3] 前記単結晶またはセラミックス中のCr3＋濃度は、M2に対して0.01～1.0原子％である、請求項1に記載のレーザー媒質。 [請求項4] 前記単結晶またはセラミックス中のNd3＋濃度は、Rに対して0.1～5.0原子％である、請求項1に記載のレーザー媒質。 [請求項5] 請求項1に記載のレーザー媒質を有するレーザー発振装置。 [請求項6] 励起光として太陽光を前記レーザー媒質に集光照射する、請求項5に記載のレーザー発振装置。 [請求項7] 請求項1に記載のレーザー媒質に太陽光を集光照射して、レーザー発振させる工程を含む、レーザー発振方法。 |
