Abstract A compound represented by formula (IV) or a salt thereof has an inhibitory effect on abscisic acid receptors. The compound or a salt thereof can be used as a plant growth regulator. [X is an ethylene group, an ethenylene group or an ethynylene group; and R1 is a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group or a naphthyl group, wherein the phenyl group and naphthyl group may have a substituent selected from the group comprising halogen atoms, hydroxyl group, C1-6 alkyl groups, C1-6 alkyl groups substituted with a halogen atom, C1-6 alkoxy groups, acetyl group, amino group, acetylamino group, phenyl group and pentafluorosulfanyl group.]

1.  The compound or a salt thereof represented by the formula (IV).
