発明の概要(英語) Provided is a method for forming an electrode catalyst layer by the electrospray deposition method (deposition) which also allows a low-viscosity catalyst ink to be used. The method comprises introducing a catalyst ink into an insulating container having an electrically conductive nozzle communicating with the container interior, applying an electrospray voltage to the nozzle thereby causing electrospraying of the catalyst ink to occur from the nozzle tip so as to form the electrode catalyst layer. The catalyst ink containing a mixture of at least the electrode catalyst, a polyelectrolyte binder, a volatile organic compound and/or water is prepared, the catalyst ink is introduced into the container such that a space is left therein and the container is sealed airtight, and electrospraying is performed with the space inside the sealed container being adjusted to a negative pressure to such an extent that the catalyst ink does not drip from the nozzle.
従来技術、競合技術の概要(英語) BACKGROUND ART
The fuel cell, water electrolysis focused on the development of the item as one of a platinum catalyst (Pt) expensive electrode to reduce the amount of use has been demanded.To reduce the amount used of Pt from the viewpoint of the chemical active material has been done, the electrode catalyst layer is prepared by the actual study from the viewpoint of processes, the development of the eye is not directed so much in the current.

The inventors have found that as shown in Non-Patent Document 4, an electrode catalyst layer formed using the electrospray method, the amount of Pt can be greatly reduced.The present invention, as described below, the non-patent document 4 is basically of the electrospray method are further improved.
