従来技術、競合技術の概要(英語) BACKGROUND ART
In the automotive exhaust gas purification, a noble metal Pt, Rh, Pd and the main catalyst containing oxygen storage material is CeO2 -based composite oxide has been required of the co-catalyst (Non-Patent Document 1 and 2).The role of the main catalyst contained in the CO in the exhaust gas, NO, and the residue hydrocarbon fuel (HC) of harmful substances such as CO2, H2 O,N2 is to purify.That is, the exhaust gas, HC and CO oxidation reaction caused by the combustion of the N and the NO2 is converted into a necessary reduction reaction to proceed simultaneously.Therefore, depending on the concentration of oxygen in exhaust, the purification efficiency of the hazardous material will vary greatly.Among them, in order to efficiently purify harmful substances, and complete combustion of the fuel, and, oxygen does not remain in the vicinity of the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio (Theoretical Air Fuel ratio: A/F=14.6) are desired to be (non-patent document 3).This is because, under the conditions of the air-fuel ratio (A/F 14.6<) is, under reducing conditions and the atmosphere of the exhaust gas, HC and CO cannot be completely cleaned.On the other hand, the air-fuel ratio in a condition of a large (A/F 14.6>), an oxidizing atmosphere of NO and becomes difficult to purify.On the basis of such a background, an excess oxygen atmosphere (under a lean atmosphere) a high catalytic activity in the development of reducing NO, from the viewpoint of improvement of fuel consumption is a very important problem.
