Title LIVING RADICAL POLYMERIZATION CATALYST, AND POLYMER PRODUCTION METHOD USING SAME
Abstract Provided are: a living radical polymerization catalyst with which further improvements to safety and cost are exhibited, and which is applicable to various vinyl monomers; and a polymer production method using said living radical polymerization catalyst. This living radical polymerization catalyst includes at least one compound selected from the group consisting of halogenated alkali metal compounds and halogenated alkaline earth metal compounds.
Outline of related art and contending technology BACKGROUND ART
In recent years, as one of techniques for a vinyl monomer, living radical polymerization method is known. Living radical polymerization method, generally the molecular weight of the vinyl polymer obtained is relatively easy to control. In addition, the resulting polymer of a vinyl polymer contained in the molecular weight distribution can be narrowed, a weight average molecular weight index (Mw) molecule and the ratio of the number average molecular weight (Mn) (Mw/Mn) is 2 or less of the polymer can be manufactured easily. The molecular weight and the molecular weight distribution, in order to influence the physical properties of the resulting polymer, by living radical polymerization method, the physical properties of the polymer is expected to be controlled.
Conventional, living radical polymerization method, the transition metal complex-based catalyst using a living radical polymerization reactions have been known. Is a catalyst containing a transition metal complex, cu, Ni, Re, Rh, as a central metal of a metal such as Ru, was designed to have a further ligand, complex is required to be obtained. In the case of using the transition metal complex-based catalyst, is a large amount of catalyst used and, further, the catalyst can be removed after the polymerization reaction is difficult. These metals can be, for many toxic, the toxicity of the living body, such as the problem in the environmental aspect there is a possibility. Further, in many cases, the ligand can be, whether the price, is complicated in the synthesis had problems.
In order to solve these problems, the inventors of the present invention, living radical polymerization as a catalyst, such as iodide and to develop compounds of nonmetallic elements (Patent Document 1). The catalyst of the patent document 1, since the catalyst include the transition metal, on which is excellent in safety, expensive by using a ligand since it is not necessary, and is superior in terms of the cost.
However, still, more excellent safety, and, more excellent in terms of the cost, in addition, a variety of vinyl monomers that can be applied to the development of living radical polymerization catalyst been desired earnestly.
Scope of claims (In Japanese)請求の範囲 [請求項1]
 ハロゲン化アルカリ金属化合物及びハロゲン化アルカリ土類金属化合物からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種を含有するリビングラジカル重合触媒。

[請求項2]
 ヨウ化アルカリ金属化合物及びヨウ化アルカリ土類金属化合物からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種を含有する、請求項1に記載のリビングラジカル重合触媒。

[請求項3]
 ヨウ化ナトリウム及びヨウ化カリウムからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種を含有する、請求項1又は2に記載のリビングラジカル重合触媒。

[請求項4]
 ラジカル重合性単量体をリビングラジカル重合によって重合させ、重合体を製造する方法であって、
請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載のリビングラジカル重合触媒を用いてリビングラジカル重合を行う工程を含む、重合体の製造方法。

[請求項5]
 前記触媒の使用量が、ラジカル重合性単量体 1モルに対して、0.000125~1モルである、請求項4に記載の製造方法。

[請求項6]
 さらにポリエーテル化合物を添加してリビングラジカル重合反応を行う、請求項4又は5に記載の重合体の製造方法。

[請求項7]
 前記ポリエーテル化合物の使用量が、前記リビングラジカル重合触媒 1モルに対して、1モル以上であり、かつ、ラジカル重合性単量体 100重量部に対して、10000重量部以下である、請求項6に記載の製造方法。
