Title FLOATING VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINE SYSTEM
Abstract Provided is a floating vertical axis wind turbine system capable of suppressing interference of a plurality of vertical axis wind turbines by making the direction of an array of the plurality of vertical axis wind turbines orthogonal to a wind direction in response to a large change in wind direction. The floating vertical axis wind turbine system comprises a wind turbine array 10 and a mooring device 50. The wind turbine array 10 includes: a plurality of vertical axis wind turbines 20 each having a rotation axis extending in the vertical direction; and floating structures 30 for supporting the plurality of vertical axis wind turbines 20 on the water surface by buoyancy, the plurality of vertical axis wind turbines 20 being arranged substantially on a virtual straight line L extending in the horizontal direction. The mooring device 50 moors the wind turbine array 10 such that the wind turbine array 10 is rotatable relative to the water surface at a rotation center position CP that is set on the virtual straight line L or in the vicinity thereof, between a first end 101, which is one end of the wind turbine array 10, and a second end 102, which is the other end of the wind turbine array 10. The rotation center position CP is set such that rotation moments about the rotation center position CP are cancelled out in a state in which the rotation center position CP is orthogonal to wind acting on the wind turbine array 10.
