発明の概要(英語) A soil sensor 1 comprises: a current supplying unit 2; an electrode 3 that is disposed on soil 100; and a processing unit 4 that obtains a moisture amount W and a total ion concentration N included in the soil 100 using changes over time in a measured voltage VM generated at the electrode 3 while a DC current is supplied to the soil 100. The processing unit 4 includes: an information converting unit 11 that converts, into frequency information, by using changes over time in the measured voltage VM, a first time t1 and a second time t2, which are respectively the times taken for the measured voltage VM to reach a first threshold voltage VH1, VL1 and a second threshold voltage VH2, VL2; an impedance calculating unit 18 that obtains the impedance of the soil 100; a moisture amount calculating unit 19 that obtains the moisture amount W by using the impedance; and a total ion concentration calculating unit 21 that obtains the total ion concentration N by using the impedance.

In recent years, the amount of the water in the soil (nutrient concentrations in the field of agriculture) ion concentration measurement is, in the agricultural sector and has been attracting attention in the field of disaster prevention. The amount of moisture in the soil, as a method of measuring the ion concentration, the electrical impedance of the method (for example, see Non-Patent Document 1), a method using a reflected light upon irradiation with electromagnetic waves, the propagation speed and temperature using the method and the like. Among them, the electrical impedance of the mainstream method.
