発明の概要(英語) Provided is a positive electrode active material with which a battery displaying favorable cycle characteristics can be obtained. The positive electrode active material comprises lithium cobalt oxide single-crystal particles having a barrel shape that includes a {100} surface and a {104} surface. The particles have a median diameter D50 of 0.5-3.0μm, and the standard deviation of the particle diameter is 0.10-0.20.
従来技術、競合技術の概要(英語) BACKGROUND ART
In recent years, secondary batteries, a personal computer, video camera, and as a power source such as a mobile phone, or vehicle as a power source for power storage, and must have been an important component.
In particular of the secondary battery is a lithium ion secondary battery, other than the secondary battery of high energy density, high-voltage operation can be seen that feature. Therefore, the size and weight as a secondary battery can be easily used in a communication device associated with the information and, in recent years, as a low pollution vehicle for electric cars and hybrid cars, electric tool, such as a high-output and high capacity for monolayer of lithium ion secondary battery has been developed.
In the lithium ion secondary battery, cycle characteristics and battery life is an important property, in order to improve the cycle characteristics of the lithium ion secondary battery has been studied. In the lithium ion secondary battery, usually, the positive electrode active material during charge and discharge of lithium ions in and out of the order, the positive electrode active material due to the deterioration of the cycle characteristic is deteriorated. Therefore, in order to obtain good charge-discharge capacity of the positive electrode active material has been studied.
Conventional, generally lithium cobalt oxide is used, a solid-phase reaction is obtained, as shown in Fig. 1 the shape of the plate-like particles, plate-like particles or amorphous particles or granulated shape of the stack.
In addition, in Non-Patent Document 1, {001} surface has been developed, {104} plane, {101} plane, {102} surface and has a shape of a hexagonal barrel shape LiCoO 2 has been proposed a positive electrode active material, it is compared to the lithium ion secondary battery and good charge-discharge capacity can be made.
