PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation apparatus with which small and large targets having easily damaged surfaces, such as live squids, can be separated from each other in an approximately non-damaged state.
SOLUTION: This separation apparatus is characterized by rotating rolls 2, 3 each having a water supply hole and water-spraying holes in the same rotation direction at a peripheral velocity of about 1.6 m/s at an inclination angle of 6 degree and inclining the water-spraying holes each having a diameter of about 2 mm at an inclination angle of about 30 to 50 degree. Thereby, a water film on the surface of each roll can well be controlled in a uniform thickness, which has been thought to be impossible. Consequently, small and large targets having easily damaged surfaces, such as live squids, can be separated from each other in an approximately non-damaged state.
