PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the specific heat of a sample to be measured, using the temperature of a heat source.
SOLUTION: A first sample cell 7 having the sample S to be measured sealed therein and an empty second sample cell 8 formed substantially similar to the first sample cell 7, are heated from the outside by the heat source 3. Temperature Ts of the heated first sample cell 7, temperature Tso of the second sample cell 8, and temperature T of the heat source 3 are detected. Time variations in respective temperatures T, Ts, and Tso are integrated. The respective times t1 and t2, when the temperature Ts of the first sample cell 7 and the temperature Tso of the second sample cell 8 are the same, are extracted so as to extract temperatures of Th and Tho of the heat source 3 at respective times t1 and t2. Specific heat CM of the sample S to be measured are calculated, based on the extracted temperatures of Th and Tho of the heat source 3 at respective times t1 and t2.
