PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an animation camera having an color area being equal to that of a human being.
SOLUTION: An optical beam splitter performs division into four or three so as to respectively have the same strength concerning an optical real image which is made incident to a lens system. Then output light beams respectively pass through four or three color filters which are obtained based on the spectral sensitivity of a standard observer in an XYZ color system determined by CIE. The output of each color filter is converted into an electric signal by a corresponding optical sensor for a dynamic image and outputted as a wide color area video signal having the color area being equal to that of light by an arithmetic processor. In place of splitting light beams by the plurality of color filters, the camera may comprise one color filter for spatially dividing a color signal comprising the three primary colors, i.e., XYZ of a CIE chromaticity diagram, with a pixel, row, or column as a unit, so as to output them. Moreover, the camera may comprise a mask for spatially dividing the color signal comprising the three primary colors, i.e., XYZ of the CIE chromaticity diagram, by the pixel, row, or column as a unit, so as to output them, concerning the light beams which are outputted from the plurality of color filters.
